Minkah Fitzpatrick’s recent trade to the Miami Dolphins by the Pittsburgh Steelers has lit social media on fire for the last couple of days. In a mind-blowing trade, Fitzpatrick was shipped off to the Dolphins in return for cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith. NFL analysts and fans everywhere have been voicing their opinions on the shocking trade ever since it was announced.
One of those who seem utterly heartbroken by Fitzpatrick’s departure from the Steelers was his former teammate, defensive tackle Cameron Heyward. In a recent episode of his ‘Not Just Football’ podcast, Heyward admitted that seeing the talented safety leave the team to go to the Dolphins made him feel ‘bittersweet’.
“I don’t know how I feel, it’s bittersweet. I’ve enjoyed playing with him and I was kind of shook by it all. … I’m excited about the new teammates, but I’m also sad to be losing a guy that I really respect in the locker room.” Cam Heyward said about Minkah Fitzpatrick in his ‘Not Just Football’ podcast.

Minkah Fitzpatrick’s trade to the Miami Dolphins has brought about mixed reactions, especially regarding his stats in the last couple of seasons. Fitzpatrick is not bound to feel anxious in the Dolphins locker room, especially since he started out his career with the team. However, the player’s departure definitely leaves a major void in the Steelers’ roster, since the safety was an essential part of their defense during his time with them.

Minkah Fitzpatrick’s Trade To Dolphins Gets George Pickens’ Reaction
Meanwhile, Minkah Fitzpatrick’s trade to the Miami Dolphins got a pretty interesting reaction out of former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens. Pickens played for the Steelers for a couple of seasons, but is currently with the Cowboys after the relationship between him and his former team soured.
“Super happy for you broski! Back to beautiful places in life, lol” George Pickens posted on Instagram as a reaction to Minkah Fitzpatrick’s trade to the Miami Dolphins.

It seems like George Pickens is not only congratulating Fitzpatrick on the move to Miami, but is also taking a dig at his former team, the Steelers, by calling the Dolphins roster a “beautiful place”. Fitzpatrick’s return to the Dolphins roster, while shocking, is not plenty exciting for fans who are still eager to see the team strengthen their offense even more. Fitzpatrick and the Dolphins will be officially kicking off their 2025 NFL campaign with a matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
