The Buffalo Bills are still reeling from their 32-29 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium in January. The Bills are now 0-4 against the Chiefs in the playoffs since 2020.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen recently came out and said that he plans to do everything in his power to help the team reach and win the Super Bowl…after his body heals up from a rough postseason run.
One key veteran won’t return for Buffalo in 2024.
Micah Hyde is retiring
Per a post on Micah Hyde’s Instagram account, the safety is retiring from the league.
“So much LOVE and way too many THANKS,” Hyde wrote. “From Fostoria to Iowa City to Green Bay to Buffalo, the goal was to leave an impact. That was one helluva dream. On to the next. MH.”
The Green Bay Packers’ fifth-round pick in 2013 had an accomplished career, earning All-Pro honors in 2017 and 2021 and making the 2017 Pro Bowl. The 34-year-old native of Fostoria, Ohio, has been with the Bills since 2017.
Buffalo Bills say goodbye to All-Pro defender
In a three-word post on X with a video below, the Bills thanked Hyde for his efforts with the team.
“Thank you, 23,” the Bills wrote. (23 is the number Hyde wore with Buffalo.)

Hyde appeared in 158 games and started 128 in his career. He recorded 644 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles, 66 passes defensed, five sacks and 24 interceptions.
Hyde entered free agency following 2023. The Bills signed Hyde to the practice squad in December, but he did not record any stats in 2024.
Hyde played college football for Iowa, earning first-team All-Big Ten honors in 2012 and second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2011. The six-foot, 197-pound defender earned Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year in 2012.
