The Miami Hurricanes and other college football programs wanted to find out where they were ranked on Tuesday night in the latest college football playoff rankings. On Saturday, the Hurricanes lost to the Syracuse Orange 42-38. For most of the season, Miami has been at the top of the ACC standings.
However, they will not be playing in the ACC Championship Game. It will be the SMU Mustangs and the Clemson Tigers. One person who was not thrilled with the way Tuesday night went was Miami’s athletic director Dan Radakovich.
Miami Hurricanes Athletic Director Dan Radakovich Sounds Off On College Football Playoff Committee
To no surprise, the Miami Hurricanes athletic director was furious with the college football playoff rankings on Tuesday night. Miami was ranked 12th in the standings, but they would be out of the playoffs because of the Arizona State Sun Devils being the BIG12 Champions, who are ranked 16th.
The Hurricanes are behind the Alabama Crimson Tide in the rankings. Alabama is 11th and they finished with a 9-3 record. Radakovich sounded off and said:
“Really ?? ….what put Bama over the top of Miami for the last spot in is that Miami went 1-2 in their last 3 games (by an average of 4.5 pts, to a ranked Syracuse and GT team that just took UGA to 8OT). Bama went 2-1 (to 5-7 Auburn, destroyed by OU, and beat FCS Mercer).”
There is no doubt that he is correct in this situation. The ACC Conference has been better this season than people give it credit for. There are a lot of college football fans who think the college football playoffs committee bow down to the Alabama Crimson Tide, despite Nick Saban not being the head coach there anymore. Kalen DeBoer is the head coach of Alabama.
Fans React
Miami got bailed out by the refs in multiple games.
They have ZERO top 25 wins.

Don’t lose at the wrong time or they’ll put the bigger brands in. The committee is a joke for real

What put bama over you ask? The 12 random dudes behind closed doors looking at projected television revenue

There’s still SEC bias, even when half the players that used to stay down south are going all over the place for NIL money.
The committee needs to catch up.

Bama should not be in the playoff. Ole Miss and South Carolina are better than them. Miami has less losses. Ole Miss has a better resume. And Bama has the WORST loss of any bubble team. But their name gets them in. It’s disgusting

A lot of college football fans are frustrated with the fact that the Miami Hurricanes are behind in the rankings. The Alabama Crimson Tide should not be ranked ahead of Miami. The Athletic Director, Dan Radakovich, has every right to defend his team in this situation because he saw that the Florida State Seminoles got a raw deal from the college football playoffs committee last year.
