Class of 2026 quarterback Cole Leinart was getting heavily recruited by several schools. He is the son of former USC Trojans quarterback Matt Leinart. Leinart won a Heisman Trophy with the Trojans during his college football career.

One of the schools that was looking at Cole Leinart is the SMU Mustangs. SMU has not yet lost this season. They have a chance to make the college football playoffs and represent the ACC Conference.
Cole Leinart Committs To the SMU Mustangs

Leinart decided to commit to the Mustangs, according to Hayes Fawcett of on3sports.com. This came after he visited them last weekend and saw SMU beat the Pittsburgh Panthers. He is in the class of 2026. This is a job well done by the SMU Mustangs because this is a college football program that is looking to be good for the long haul.
He is 6’3″ and weighs 180 lbs. There were five other schools who were looking at Cole Leinart. They were the Pittsburgh Panthers, the Colorado Buffaloes, the Arizona Wildcats, the Duke Blue Devils, and the Utah Utes.
This is a huge get for the SMU Mustangs football program. It will be interesting to see if Cole Leinart will be as good as his father was when he gets to the college level.

These were some good reactions from the college football fans. It would have been interesting to see if he had decided to commit to a team like the Colorado Buffaloes. This is good for Cole Leinart to go to the Mustangs.
