The Miami Dolphins are hoping that their 2025 season is a vast improvement over their 2024 campaign, which saw them 8-9 and miss the NFL Playoffs. Part of the reason for their struggles was the fact that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, fresh off of a massive $200+ million extension, only played in 11 games due to more concussion concerns.
As a result of his injuries, the rest of the offense sputtered. Notably, Tyreek Hill, their eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, went from 119 receptions for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2023 to 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns in 2024.
Of course, the Dolphins and Hill had a tumultuous season, which also saw the star wide receiver getting arrested hours before their Week One game after a run-in with police. After the season, Hill announced that he would not be returning to Miami, but has since walked back on those comments and is currently in attendance at the Dolphins’ OTA’s.
Tyreek Hill Said He Wanted to Punch Miami Dolphins Head Coach Mike McDaniel

While Hill is at voluntary workouts, he still has a blemished reputation among fans. Recently, a viral video of him on an Internet stream went viral in which he said he wanted to punch Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel:

In the video, Hill said that he wanted to “Punch Coach McDaniel” because “he wasn’t throwing me the ball.”
It is unclear when this video was made, but it stands to reason that it may be older, or that Hill was referencing how he felt during the 2024 season.
Just this week, McDaniel had high praise for Hill, saying he has been doing a great deal in order to get back on the field following wrist surgery. “But he’s been participating above and beyond. Whatever he can do, he has been doing,” the coach said.
Hill is certainly one of the more polarizing figures in the NFL, and especially in Miami. It will be interesting to see what the season has in store for them.
