Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa expressed his concern for Tyreek Hill and his family after the home of the star wide receiver caught fire on Wednesday.
Hill had to abruptly leave their latest practice after he was told about the fire in his Florida home. While the fire was contained in one room, it actually caused a huge blaze, with black smoke seen above the house of the Dolphins star.
What Happened to Tyreek Hill’s House?
Some family members were reportedly in Hill’s home when the incident happened. Fortunately, no one was hurt and the fire was eventually put out. The cause of the incident is still unknown, and Hill and his family have chosen to keep things private as they deal with the situation.
Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, did provide an update on the Hill family. He shared that the fire was contained to a “limited area,” although smoke and water damage are to be expected.
“He and his family are safe. No one was injured No. 1, no pets, so for that, we’re very grateful. We’re very grateful to the firefighters that put the fire out. Thankfully, the fire was contained to a limited area in the home. Obviously, there’ll be some smoke and water damage. It’s very difficult for anybody obviously to have your home catch on fire, but Tyreek was handling it, he and his family, with as much poise as you could hope,” Rosenhaus shared, via Yahoo Sports.
It’s certainly encouraging to hear that Tyreek Hill and his family are safe in good condition. It’s hard to imagine what they are going through right now, especially with Hill having just married his partner in December of 2023. They are just getting started with their new life, and something devastating already happened.
Tua Tagovailoa Shows Support for Miami Dolphins Teammate
After the scary incident, Tyreek Hill got plenty of support from the Miami Dolphins, with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa quick to express his concern and show his love for his teammate.
Tagovailoa learned of what happened after their practice on Wednesday as they prepare for Week 18. And sure enough, he couldn’t help but be worried. Speaking to reporters, he shared that his thoughts and prayers are with Hill and his family. Tagovailoa added that he’s just glad everyone is safe.
“I think that would be difficult for, not just my teammates, but for anyone in general to be going through what Tyreek is going through right now,” Tagovailoa shared. “I think the main thing is his family is safe. His loved ones are good. He’s good as well. I know it’s a little cliche to say, but those things like that, part of the house, some of those things can be replaceable. I’m just glad that a lot of his family members are safe.”
It remains to be seen when Hill will be able to rejoin the Dolphins, but Tagovailoa and the rest of the team know that it’s the last thing on his mind right now.
For now, the Dolphins faithful can only hope for the best for Hill and his family amid this difficult time.
