The Miami Dolphins enter the final stage of spring practice, mandatory minicamp, which runs from Tuesday to Thursday. Since minicamp is mandatory, they must attend all three days unless they have an excused absence or a massive fine ensues. Players will be fined $17,462 for skipping Day 1, $34,925 for Day 2, and $52,381 for Day 3, totaling $104,768 for all three days.

Jonnu Smith has reportedly been the subject of trade talks and is linked with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the Pro Bowler prefers to remain in Miami. However, he would like a raise since he is currently the 32nd-highest-paid tight end in the NFL. Smith enters the final year of his two-year, $8.4 million contract and is scheduled to earn a $3.49 million base salary and a $4.64 million cap hit in 2025.

According to Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post, Jonnu Smith will skip their three mandatory minicamp practices this week with an unexcused absence. As a result, the Pro Bowl tight end will be subject to $104,768 in fines. The Dolphins will have over a month to resolve Smith’s contract dispute before training camp begins in late July, and a possible holdout persists.
