Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly Stafford, dropped some reassuring news for fans who are worried that the Los Angeles quarterback might retire soon. This builds on the fact that wide receiver Cooper Kupp will not be playing in the upcoming NFL season as the team has decided to trade him for a younger player.
Matthew Stafford himself is 36 years old, which is quite old in terms of football years, and speculations have been going around that the quarterback might retire voluntarily, or simply be forced to retire from his beloved sport.
“It had been speculated that he wants to play again in 2025. That speculation is right. The thing is, there’s a lot to figure out before that can happen. But you know, he had a great year. I was talking to him, and he’s like, ‘I know. I feel pretty good, you know. Not many injuries, no surgeries. Just the four cracked ribs and multiple injuries that were small but significant’. He would like to play in 2025. I’m excited.” Kelly Stafford said on TIMEOUT.
The Los Angeles Rams have good reason to consider getting younger and stronger players in their roster for the upcoming NFL season. The Rams finished the 2024 NFL season first in the NFC West with ten wins and seven defeats. During the NFC Championship game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Rams lost the game with a close score of 28-22 and were officially kicked out of the Super Bowl.
Matthew Stafford’s Voices Irked With Sky-High Cost Of Super Bowl Tickets
On the other hand, Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly Stafford, voiced her concerns over the extreme cost of Super Bowl tickets. Kelly spoke out against the fact that the Super Bowl is aiming to get only rich people in their seats, and not making the event accessible to real fans who might not be able to afford the tickets at their current rates.
In fact, Kelly remarked that it would not make sense for even her family to buy a suite to watch the game. Suites in the Super Bowl cost about $2.5 million which is too much for even a quarterback’s family to attend the game.
In response to her comments, her podcast co-host, Hank, also echoed her sentiments about the ticket prices. Hank went on to admit that while the whole thing was a business focused on making profit, it would not be fair to loyal fans who stuck with the league through good times and bad.
