Matthew Stafford, quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, definitely misses his long-time friend and former teammate, Cooper Kupp. Kupp played with Stafford for a number of years in the Rams team, but was recently moved to the Seattle Seahawks. Stafford discussed his current relationship with Kupp in his recent appearance on the NFL Network.

Stafford has been playing for the Los Angeles Rams since 2021 after moving from the Detroit Lions where he played from 2009 to 2020. Before playing for the league, the 37-year-old quarterback played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs. In the 2024 NFL season, the quarterback threw for 3,762 yards, scoring 20 touchdowns, while managing eight interceptions.

“Yeah, I’ve been texting with him some. He’s a few miles away in a different colored jersey, but it’s the same old stuff—giving each other a hard time and having fun. I did ask him about this, I was like ‘Am I going to be able to say what’s up to you pregame? What’s the deal?’ He’s like ‘I’m going to give you a big bear hug.’’” Matthew Stafford said about his former teammate, Cooper Kupp, playing for a rival team in this NFL season.

Matthew Stafford will definitely be putting in more effort to help the Los Angeles Rams do better in the upcoming NFL season. In the previous football season, the Rams finished at the top of the NFC West after winning ten games and losing seven. The Rams only managed to make it to the NFL Divisional Round to take on the Philadelphia Eagles, where they lost 28-22. The Philadelphia Eagles eventually won the Super Bowl in February.

Matthew Stafford Impressed By Davante Adams During Practices

Meanwhile, Matthew Stafford was left impressed by newbie wide receiver Davante Adams during the team’s spring practices. Adams will be playing his very first season with the Los Angeles Rams this year after being signed from the New York Jets. Stafford joined the NFL after being selected by the Green Bay Packers as the 53rd pick in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft.

In the previous NFL season, Adams managed a total of 85 receptions for the team for 1,063 yards scoring eight touchdowns for the New York Jets. The Rams will be expecting the wide receiver to do plenty more for the team in the upcoming NFL season. Stafford beamed in pride with Adams’ professionalism and motivation to get better.
