The LA Rams are hoping to rope in Riley Leonard in the NFL draft as a backup for Matthew Stafford, as per ESPN analyst Ben Solak’s mock draft. Stafford has been playing for the Los Angeles Rams since 2021, and has shown signs of slowing down. The team will try to bring in someone younger to learn the ropes from the veteran quarterback.
Riley Leonard seems like the perfect option for the Los Angeles Rams. Leonard last played for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and before that played for the Duke Blue Devils from 2021 to 2023. In his senior year with Notre Dame, Leonard managed to throw for 2,861 yards, scoring 21 touchdowns, while managing eight interceptions for the team.
According to Ben Solak’s mock draft, the Los Angeles Rams will hugely benefit from Leonard’s ability to pass and run on the field. If the team is able to bring in Riley Leonard to their squad, the Los Angeles Rams will have another superb quarterback as a backup for Stafford.
In the 2024 NFL season, the Los Angeles Rams finished at the top of the NFC West table after winning ten games and losing seven. The Rams made it to the NFL Divisional Round and played against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, they lost here with a 28-22 final score, and were shown the way out of the tournament. The team will be eager to improve their offense and hopefully make it to the playoffs in the 2025 NFL season.

LA Rams Wide Receiver Puka Nacua Reveals Retirement Plans
On another note, LA Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, seems to have some unique plans for his retirement. Nacua recently made an appearance on ‘Games with Names’ with Julian Edelman and shocked everyone when he said he wants to play overseas basketball after retiring from the NFL.

Nacua also confessed that he hoped to retire from the game at a time when he is still physically at his best, so that he can play more sports. Nacua hopes to find an overseas team in a country that is not so popularly known, and perhaps even get ownership or a coaching role with the team.

Puka Nacua has been playing in the NFL since 2023 after being selected by the Los Angeles Rams as the 177th pick in the fifth round of the draft. In the previous NFL season, Nacua managed 79 receptions in total for 990 yards, scoring thrice.
