The Las Vegas Raiders have been trying to figure out the next step for their franchise as they are in the process of finding the team’s next head coach. They originally had Josh McDaniels as the team’s coach before being fired midway throughout the season before interim coach Antonio Pierce led the franchise for the second half of the season.
While many people expected the Las Vegas Raiders to immediately hire Antonio Pierce and remove the interim tag during the year, they never did. However, things are pointing in the right direction for this to officially happen.
I'm told Antonio Pierce's agent has been spotted in the #Raiders facility this morning (local time), per source. pic.twitter.com/fsmu7LyEAb

This is a great sign and while it could mean nothing, this could be viewed as the details beginning to get ironed out between Pierce and the Las Vegas Raiders. Players on the team have gone public about wanting him back as he created and established a culture that helped get the team going and get a spark after looking dead throughout the season.
While coaching hires technically cannot happen yet, this is a little different as he is an interim coach being elevated. We will keep you updated if anything changes going forward.
Should the Las Vegas Raiders officially hire Antonio Pierce as their next head coach?
The Las Vegas Raiders are in an interesting position as they already know what Antonio Pierce could do as he coached the entire second half of the season. The team has already interviewed a few candidates for the position, including Leslie Frazier and Kris Richards, so they may be getting closer to announcing their next official coach.
However, the biggest move the team can make is to stay the same and hire Antonio Pierce as the head coach of the program. One reason is the fact he has relationships with the players on the roster and creating more distractions would just be another issue that the team does not need. This Raiders team is good and is a few steps away from being an AFC Wild Card contender and signing Pierce would solidify that.
