Despite working with subpar talent at quarterback in 2024, New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers managed to have an impressive rookie season. The No. 6 pick in the 2024 draft finished the year with 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns.
The New York Giants need a QB
The Giants chose to move on from starting quarterback Daniel Jones during the middle of the season for monetary reasons. New York holds the No. 3 pick for April’s draft, and they’ll likely try and select their future signal caller.
During an appearance on Pro Football Talk Live, Nabers claimed to have no preference as to what the Giants do at quarterback this offseason. New York could add a veteran quarterback with head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen on the hot seat.

Nabers suggested that New York should add a competent veteran quarterback to the room regardless of what they do with the No. 3 pick, He’s worried about playing with a rookie, especially one without guidance.
“I would want to have a vet in there,” Nabers said. “If we decide to pick a rookie, in my eye I would want a vet to be in that same room with that rookie teaching him some stuff so when he’s out there — he’s not just out there in his head [thinking] he has to be the savior of this team. That’s a lot to put on a rookie.”
Nabers’ comments were interesting given what his former teammate at LSU did with the Washington Commanders. Daniels threw for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions en route to leading the Commanders to the NFC Championship Game.
