The news comes after the Crimson Tide’s seven-time National Championship winning head coach, Nick Saban retired from coaching earlier this afternoon.
The 6-foot, 165-pound wide receiver issues a statement to On3 about his decision:
“First off I would like to thank God, my family, and anyone else who has helped me make it to this point… but with careful consideration with my family I will be decommitting from the University of Alabama … respect my decision.”

Underwood is the 12th player in the country for the 2024 recruiting cycle, coming in as the fourth raked wide receiver, and number two ranked player from the state of Alabama.
While many things can (and likely will) change with Nick Saban’s retirement, the Crimson Tide currently sit with the second-ranked recruiting class during the 2024 cycle.
