“We Gave It Our All Without Our Starting QB”: Philadelphia Eagles Fans Encouraged Despite Loss Against the Washington Commanders

The Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders may have been the game of the day in the NFL. When the Eagles had a 30-28 lead in the fourth quarter, Devonta Smith dropped a crucial pass from Kenny Pickett on a third-down play that led to a Jake Elliott 40-yard field goal.

On the ensuing drive, Jayden Daniels threw the game-winning nine-yard touchdown pass to Jamison Crowder with six seconds remaining (Jeremy McNichols’ 2-point conversion good) to lift the Commanders to a 36-33 win over the Eagles. With the win, the Commanders improved to 10-5 on the season and the Eagles dropped to 12-3 on the season.

Philadelphia Eagles Lose Star Quarterback Jalen Hurts To Concussion In the First Half Against the Washington Commanders

Hurts suffered a concussion in the first half against the Commanders and he did not return for the Eagles. Jalen Hurts completed 1-of-4 passes for 11 yards and also rushed for 41 yards on three carries. With him getting injured, Kenny Pickett played the rest of the game for Philadelphia.

He completed 14-of-23 passes for 143 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Pickett was alright considering the circumstances. His lone touchdown pass was to A.J. Brown from four yards out in the first quarter.

Fans React To Losing Against the Commanders

It will be interesting to see if Jalen Hurts can be ready for the Dallas Cowboys (6-8) matchup next week. If not, Kenny Pickett will be the starting quarterback for Philadelphia. The Eagles defense gave up 22 points in the fourth quarter against the Washington Commanders.

Jayden Daniels completed 24-of-39 passes for 257 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also rushed for 82 yards on nine carries and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 9.1 yards per carry. The Washington Commanders have a chance to win the division still, but the Eagles will most likely wrap up the division within the next two weeks because if they were to lose to Dallas, there is no way they would lose to the New York Giants (2-13).
