The LSU Tigers finished the 2024 season 8-4, with a 5-3 record in conference games, and 7th in the SEC. The Tigers’ offense significantly regressed in 2024 in terms of yards per game and points per game compared to 2023. They averaged 543.5 yards per game and 45.5 points per game in 2023, vs. 431.9 yards per game and 29.3 points per game in 2024.
Since the Tigers finished the regular season with over six wins, they have qualified for a bowl game in each of Brian Kelly’s first three seasons as head coach. However, the date, specific bowl game, and the opponent have yet to be decided. Lastly, it’s unclear whether their elite offensive player will suit up for their bowl game since he made a massive decision regarding his future.
The LSU Tigers elite OT reveals his plans for 2025
Tigers’ elite left tackle Will Campbell announced on Instagram that he will forego his final year of eligibility and declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. Here’s what he had to say about his decision.
“There aren’t enough words to describe the impact LSU, the Baton Rouge community, and the state of Louisiana has had on my life. Over the past three years, I was blessed to live out my childhood dream of being an LSU Tiger. I give all the glory to God for these opportunities.
“First, I would like to thank all of the Coaches and Support Staff at LSU. Thank you, Coach Brian Kelly, for the leadership and opportunity to play at my dream school. Specifically, I’d like to thank Brad Davis, Steve Demao, Adam Kleffner, Kanan Ray, and John McDonnell. I appreciate everything you’ve poured into me to become the best version of myself, not only as a player, but as a person.
“To my Teammates, I am forever thankful for the bonds we’ve created these past three years. Our times together as brothers will be some of my greatest memories and our friendships will be lifelong.
“To Tiger Nation, thank you for your love, support, and unmatched traditions. Running out of the tunnel in Death Valley is something that can’t be explained. Thank you for being the best fans in the world.
“The final thank you is to my family. Mom and Dad, you’ve been my rock and the biggest supporters through it all. To my brother, Thomas, I love you and thank you for always being by my side. To my extended family, friends, my boys, and everyone that’s been with me on this ride, I love you all and your support will continue to drive me.
“After much prayer and discussion with my family, I will forego my final year of eligibility at LSU and declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. I will always cherish my time at LSU.”

The former four-star recruit had a great career in Baton Rouge
Will Campbell committed to the LSU Tigers as a four-star recruit for the 2021 season. Campbell would have a great career in Baton Rouge, starting 38 games at left tackle in his three seasons and developing into one of the best offensive linemen in all of college football. He was named to the Freshman All-American First Team and All-SEC Second Team in 2022, All-SEC First Team in 2023, and will receive recognition for the All-American Team and All-SEC Team for 2024.
Where does the elite left tackle rank among prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft?
Bleacher Report currently ranks Will Campbell as the seventh-best prospect and the best offensive lineman and offensive tackle in the 2025 NFL Draft. ESPN ranks Campbell as the 12th-best prospect and the second-best offensive lineman/tackle behind Kelvin Banks Jr. Either way, the junior tackle will more than likely be selected early in the first round, either as the first lineman or the second or third.
