The 8-6 Los Angeles Rams currently sit in first place in the NFC West Division and fourth in the NFC Playoff Picture. The only realistic path for the Rams to clinch a playoff berth is if they win the NFC West Division title unless the Washington Commanders lose more games and fall out of the seventh seed. They face the New York Jets on the road for Week 16, the Arizona Cardinals at home for Week 17, and close against the Seattle Seahawks at home for Week 18, the regular season finale.
The Los Angeles Rams star TE has yet to play this season
The Rams placed star tight end Tyler Higbee on the reserve/physically unable to perform (PUP) list to start the 2024 season because of an ACL tear he suffered against the Detroit Lions in the Wild Card round last season. As a result, Higbee missed 14 games and 15 weeks, as the team went 8-6 in his absence. Free agent acquisition Colby Parkinson took over as the starting tight end this season and leads the position in receiving with 29 receptions for 288 yards and one touchdown in nine starts.
The Rams designated Higbee for return on Wednesday, November 27. Higbee practiced on Wednesday and Thursday as a limited participant and upgraded to a full participant on Friday during Week 13’s practice but did not play against the New Orleans Saints. For Weeks 14 and 15, he participated as a full participant during the last two weeks of practice but missed Week 14 against the Buffalo Bills and Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers. The team had to decide by Wednesday to activate him, or else he would revert to season-ending injured reserve since his practice window expires tomorrow.
The Los Angeles Rams have made a decision
On X, the Rams announced they had activated Tyler Higbee from the physically unable-to-perform list to the 53-man roster before the deadline. The expectation is for him to make his regular-season debut against the New York Jets in Week 16.
