The Los Angeles Rams signed Jonah Jackson to a 3-year, $51 million contract with $34 million guaranteed. Jackson played his first four seasons with the Detroit Lions, playing 57 games and starting 57 and predominately playing at left guard. The Rams signed him to replace Steve Avila at LG, who converted back to center.
Jackson missed five regular season games due to a high ankle sprain (Weeks 6-8) and a wrist injury (Weeks 11-12). He then missed the NFC Championship game with a slight meniscus tear. Unfortunately, he couldn’t avoid the injury bug during training camp.
The Los Angeles Rams free-agent acquisition suffered a shoulder injury

Jonah Jackson exited Tuesday’s practice with an apparent left shoulder injury. Jackson had a sling on his arm and wasn’t present for Wednesday’s walkthrough. Head coach Sean McVay wasn’t sure about the severity of his injury but will talk with reporters on Thursday.
The injury doesn’t seem serious, but he could still miss time.
Jonah Jackson will likely miss six weeks

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jackson suffered a bruised scapula. He is expected to miss six weeks and will likely miss the entire preseason. The Rams hope he will be ready to go for Week 1 when they face his former team, the Lions.

Who filled in for Jonah Jackson

Zach Thomas filled in for Jackson. Thomas is on his second team and his third year in the league. He has played 35 snaps at LT in 2023 and one at RG in 2022.
Jonah isn’t the only offensive lineman hurt.
The Los Angeles Rams LT suffered an injury earlier this week

Alaric Jackson injured his ankle during Monday’s practice. He missed Tuesday’s practice and Wednesday’s walkthrough. Thankfully, McVay is playing it safe and isn’t concerned about his injury.
In the meantime, Joe Noteboom filled in for Alaric. Noteboom could eventually move over to left guard once Alaric recovers from his injury and if Jonah isn’t quite ready.
