The Los Angeles Chargers hosted the Denver Broncos at SoFi Stadium last Thursday night. The Chargers won 34-27 against the Broncos, rising to 9-6 and jumping to the sixth seed in the AFC. With a win over the 3-12 New England Patriots on Saturday, Los Angeles would clinch a playoff berth in Jim Harbaugh’s first season as head coach.
“We’ve still got games to win,” Harbaugh said. “Nine wins can get you in the playoffs but you need help.
“10 wins, most years, can and this year I think it would. 11 usually gets you in,” Harbaugh added.
Los Angeles Chargers’ star offensive weapon has yet to play since Week 12
Chargers’ Comeback Player of the Year candidate for the 2024 season, star running back J.K. Dobbins, suffered an MCL sprain in the second quarter against his former team, the Baltimore Ravens, during Week 12 of Monday Night Football. Given his recent injury history, the Chargers decided to play it safe and placed him on injured reserve ahead of Week 13 despite his week-to-week injury status. Since then, Dobbins missed the last four weeks but is eligible to return to the football field.

According to Kris Rhim of ESPN, during Monday’s press conference, head coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters that the Chargers designated J.K. Dobbins for a return from injured reserve, effectively opening up his 21-day practice window. It’s still early in the week to determine whether Dobbins will return to the starting lineup on Saturday. Either way, he should be ready for the start of the postseason unless they activate him sooner.
