The Detroit Lions are 4-1 through their first five games and have championship expectations this year. This weekend will feature a massive contest against the 5-0 Minnesota Vikings.
Aidan Hutchinson’s recent injury has forced Detroit to consider trade options to replace his productivity along the defensive line. As it turns out, they’ve already been in contact about one player.
Lions Fans Erupt After Team Officially Picks Up The Phone For Massive Trade (Report)
Our very own Daniel Yerushalmi initially covered the story:
It would make sense that the team would look outside of their organization to try and fill the void that the injury to their best defender left, and the main trade target for the team is reportedly Haason Reddick. While the Lions have one of the best offenses in the league, they will need a top defense if they want to make it out of the NFC and represent the conference in the Super Bowl.
Per NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the main target for that replacement is Reddick, and the team has checked in with the New York Jets about the Pro Bowler:
“The #Lions have checked in on the Haason Reddick situation, per source. Could just be diligence. But Dan Campbell promised that GM Brad Holmes is doing his homework and that appears to be the case here,” Fowler wrote.
Fans were quick to react to the possibility of Haason Reddick going to Detroit:
