The Clemson Tigers had a rough start to their season when they played the number-one team in the country, Georgia, in Week One and lost 34-3, and everyone in the college football world was calling for Dabo Swinney’s job.
Swinney has had a rough time the past few years in the new era of college football. He does not want to adapt to NIL and the transfer portal, and this offseason, he didn’t take one player from the portal.
Dabo Swinney Is Still Elite
It seemed like Swinney was counting the days until he could leave college football and do something else with his life, but the last five weeks have shown that the Clemson head coach still has it.
Since the Tigers’ loss in Week One, they have been on a five-game winning streak, are 4-0 in the ACC, and look like one of the best teams in the country.
Swinney has won two national championships and knows what he is doing, but many people were done with Swinney after his rough start, and now he looks like he’s still one of the best coaches in the country.
Clemson does benefit from playing in an easy ACC, but the Tigers are destroying teams in the conference, and they are looking like they did from 2015 to 2020 when they played for national titles.
The Tigers look to be the team to beat in the ACC and get a bye in the college football playoffs, and they have done a wonderful job bouncing back from that horrible Week One loss to Georgia.
