A celebrity known for being a New York Jets fan had a brutally honest conversation about abortion on a recent podcast that sparked outrage on social media this week. English singer Lily Allen is known for being somewhat of a provocateur, advocating for the banning of soccer.
Allen is a fan of the Jets and was pictured wearing their gear with David Harbour before New York’s 10-9 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 4 of last season.
A celebrity New York Jets fan opens up on abortion
During an episode of her podcast “Miss Me?” about the need for more talk about contraception, Allen admitted to having so many abortions that she forgot how many she had.
“I’d get pregnant all the time, all the time,” Allen said. “Abortions, I’ve had a few, but then again, I can’t remember exactly how many… I think maybe like, I want to say four or five.”
Allen isn’t a singular case. Her co-host, Miquita Oliver, claimed to have a similar number of abortions.
“Lily, I’m so happy I can say that and you can say it and no one came to shoot us down, no judgment,” Oliver said. “We’ve had about the same amount of abortions.”
Lily Allen’s comments face backlash online
The controversial comments led to an outcry on social media, including some of which were NFL fans.
“babylon fer real,” posted NFL$ammy.
“Horrifying. God knows every soul and she’ll be accountable for it,” posted another.
“She is a monster. We really need to bring back shame. These psudo celebrities are ruining morals for young people everywhere,” argued a poster.
“Disgusting. FOR SHAME,” posted another.
“That’s really nasty if you ask me,” wrote one person.
