The Las Vegas Raiders did not address their quarterback room during last year’s NFL Draft. They also opted to sign journeyman quarterback Gardner Minshew last offseason, pairing him with 2023 fourth-round pick Aidan O’Connell and calling it a day. The results have been pedestrian, with Las Vegas scoring 18.6 points per game, the 27th-best mark in the league. The duo of Minshew and O’Connell have combined for 13 touchdowns against 12 picks.
More importantly, the Las Vegas Raiders are 2-10, in last place regarding the AFC West, and are a near lock for a top-three pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. During the team’s eight-game losing streak, Colorado football quarterback Shedeur Sanders, a projected top-five selection in the upcoming draft, continues to drop hints about wanting to join Las Vegas this offseason. On Friday, Sanders shared on his Instagram account that he was driving past Allegiant Stadium, home of the Raiders, sending the fanbase into a frenzy.
Las Vegas Raiders Fans Clamor For Shedeur Sanders
According to Dov Kleiman on Twitter:
Shedeur Sanders isn’t even hiding the fact he wants to be a #Raider.
For the better part of a month, Colorado football superstar quarterback Shedeur Sanders has cryptically tweeted, “Thank You GOD,” shortly after a Las Vegas Raiders loss. On Friday, Sanders posted a video to his social media account driving past Allegiant Stadium, the Raiders home, with the caption “Legendary.” The Raiders will likely have a top-five pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, with many pundits believing Sanders could be the first quarterback off the board.
This season, Sanders led the country with a 74.2% completion percentage. His 71.8% career completion percentage is the highest in FBS history. Meanwhile, he threw for 3,926 yards, 35 touchdowns, and eight picks while leading Colorado to their second nine-win season since 2003. With the Heisman Trophy Award hopeful dropping another Las Vegas Raiders-centric social media nugget, fans quickly jumped to Twitter with excitement:
