Ladd McConkey’s wife, Sydney, recently finished her degree to become an educator and shared an Instagram post announcing this. The Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver and Sydney have known each other since school and started dating when they were teenagers. The couple got married a couple of weeks back.
Sydney McConkey expressed that she had to change a couple of degrees before she was able to find something that she was truly passionate about. She also mentioned how being an educator can be quite challenging, but has its own share of rewards as well.
“A couple degree changes later and a break from school to move across the country, I have found something my heart truly loves & have FINALLY finished my degree + some endorsements!! Officially Mrs. McConkey 🍎🎓✏️ Being an educator can be challenging at times but ultimately is the most rewarding and humbling experience. To my babies over the years, I will love you all forever❤️ Don’t forget, do it for YOU!!!,” Sydney McConkey posted on her Instagram after getting her degree in education.
“You’re amazing! So proud of you,” Ladd McConkey, commented on Sydney McConkey’s Instagram post.
Ladd McConkey has been playing for the Los Angeles Chargers since the 2024 NFL season after being selected as the 34th pick in the second round of the NFL draft. Before he stepped into the league, McConkey played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs from 2020 to 2023. In his rookie season, McConkey managed a total of 82 receptions for 1,149 yards, scoring seven touchdowns for the team.

Ladd McConkey’s New Teammate Compared To ‘Bruce Banner’
Ladd McConkey’s team made several impactful acquisitions in the 2025 NFL draft. Omarion Hampton was perhaps one of the most stellar picks that the Chargers made this year. After a picture of him meeting head coach, Jim Harbaugh, went viral, LA fans could not help but comment on his remarkable size.

Some social media users even nicknamed Hampton as ‘Bruce Banner’ a.k.a the Hulk in the Marvel Universe. Hampton stands six-feet tall and weighs 221 lbs. and looks stacked on the field. The new running back for the Chargers can be expected to do some major damage for the team and make Harbaugh happy.

Harbaugh remarked earlier that he hopes to amplify the team’s offense and running game, in which Omarion Hampton will fit very well. Hampton was the 22nd pick in the very first round of the draft and lastly player for the North Carolina Tar Heels.
