The Brahmas need a quarterback because Reid Sinnett injured his right foot against the Arlington Renegades. Sinnett took over for Jack Coan who struggled to help the Brahma’s offense.
Benkert played in one NFL game and recorded a negative rushing yard. Outside of the negative rushing yard, Benkert doesn’t have any passing stats in the NFL.
Benkert went undrafted in 2018. Benkert played college football for East Carolina and Virginia. Benkert recorded 5,817 passing yards, threw 46 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions.
Benkert was a journeyman in the NFL, spending time with the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, and San Francisco 49ers. Benkert was primarily a backup and never started an NFL regular season game. Benkert has an opportunity to show the world he is a capable quarterback. All it takes is one opportunity.
San Antonio takes on the Arlington Renegades on Sunday, March 26. Brahma’s fans shall see if Benkert starts.
