Kirk Cousins has bounced back after Achilles Surgery
Kirk Cousins took the stage Thursday night to announce the winner of the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year. Kirk told the world of Will Anderson Jr. winning the award, but just before that was announced he graced us with dance moves showing off his ankles health.
Kirk Cousins Ankle Health
Most would not know that Kirk Cousins was capable of such rhythmic moves, especially after his injury this past season. Only 101 days ago Kirk Cousins ruptured his Achilles on the playing field.
Cousins injured his ankle on October 29th in a win over the Green Bay Packers. He was able to have surgery 3 days later. “The 35-year-old quarterback tore his Achilles tendon during the Oct. 29 win over the Green Bay Packers. He had surgery three days later. He will miss the rest of the season on injured reserve.”
He recently showed off his scar on the Pat McAfee show.
Kirk Cousins has commented on multiple formats that he wasn’t sure if he would play again, or what his career held next, but is very optimistic on what the future holds.
“Cousins was a guest on The Adam Schefter Podcast Tuesday and said, “One thought went through my head, ‘Will I ever play football again?’ You know, I’m an older guy, free agent, is there a market? I didn’t know. I believe I will, and I believe it will be there but you wonder.” All of this according to SI.com.
What will the Minnesota Vikings do next?
Kirk Cousins has stated he wants to return “Honestly, I’d love to be back in Minnesota. But even Minnesota, those conversations don’t start yet. It’s more late February, early March,” Cousins said. “Until we can get to March 1 maybe, maybe a little after that, you just don’t really expect much.”
Kirk was playing at a high level the past 2 season under head coach Kevin O’Connell. They’ve both stated how they have helped each other in the process of O’Connell taking over, as well as Kirk’s growth in the offense.
Reports state that Kirk will demand close to 90 million dollars guaranteed over 2 years. There will be a high demand for a veteran pro bowl quarterback, so we shall see what the market demands.
