Keyshawn Johnson, former New York Jets wide receiver, seems pretty happy with the New York Jets hiring Aaron Glenn as their new head coach. Johnson discussed this and more on Tuesday’s edition of ‘All Facts No Brakes’, and also spoke about what Glenn would bring to the table for the New York Jets.
“I would say it’s an ‘A.’ They got exactly what they need, some discipline, a no-nonsense coach who played the game at the highest level in New York, and in Dallas, and in Houston. He coached in New Orleans, coached in Detroit. Turned over a defensive unit that was clearly missing a lot of pieces on the back end. Yet was still one of the top defenses in the league. I like this hire a lot.” Keyshawn Johnson said on ‘All Facts No Brakes’.
“They’re getting a mix of Bill Parcells, Sean Payton, Dan Campbell and Bill Belichick, that’s what you get,” Johnson said. “So you’re going to get that nice mix and the key thing about that all, he’s not going to try and be them, he’s going to be himself.” Johnson added.
Before being hired by the New York Jets as head coach, Aaron Glenn was the defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions. This is the first time that Glenn has been offered the role of head coach, and started off his coaching career as assistant defensive backs coach with the Cleveland Browns in 2014. With Glenn’s vast coaching experience, it is no wonder that Keyshawn Johnson would back him and his skill sets for the New York Jets.
Keyshawn Johnson To Streak In Boxers If Glenn Sticks With Rodgers
Meanwhile, a few days back, Keyshawn Johnson said that he would “walk from Calabasas at 4 a.m., to the studio, with nothing on but boxers” if Aaron Glenn decides to keep Aaron Rodgers in the New York Jets team.
Interestingly, Glenn has not confirmed Aaron Rodgers sticking with the New York Jets, while the management also echoed the same sentiment. According to Jets owner Woody Johnson, Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey will sit and analyze if they really need Rodgers in the team.
Glenn also discussed the same in his introductory press conference, mentioning that it is not only about Rodgers, but the entire team roster. Since Aaron Glenn and the team have not made their decision about Aaron Rodgers, it is still unclear as to if Keyshawn Johnson will be indeed walking in his boxers at 4 a.m.
