Dallas Cowboys fans woke up Sunday to some drama — Kavontae Turpin just got arrested.
According to NFL reporter Dov Kleiman, Turpin was picked up for having weed and carrying a gun without the proper license.
“𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Cowboys WR Kavontae Turpin was arrested this morning by police on illegal marijuana and gun charges,” Kleiman posted on X. “Turpin was charged with a Class B Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana and a Class A Misdemeanor Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.”
Turpin’s not really a big name at receiver, but he’s been huge on special teams. Dude scored on punt and kick returns last season and even made First-Team All-Pro. He’s been a spark for Dallas.
Still, not everyone thinks this is a big deal.

Micah Parsons’ brother, Terrence, kept it real in a tweet:
“I wouldn’t sweat that Turpin [is] on shit at all, lol. Everybody has guns and a lot of people smoke weed. He just got in trouble. No felonies, no suspension, he’s good. He’ll get fines and maybe some probation, everybody should be chillin’.”
“Cowboys already takin L’s”: Fans react to KaVontae Turpin’s arrest
After the news of KaVontae Turpin’s arrest broke out, fans weren’t exactly chill, though. Some were quick to joke about the team already dealing with problems before the season starts.
“Cowboys already takin L’s. Yes sir,” one fan tweeted.
Another posted, “Getting ready to be in great shape for the season helping his team to win,” throwing some sarcasm in.

One fan went full serious mode: “The gun charges are one thing. But weed is absolutely unacceptable… Kick him off the team!”

The thing is, this isn’t Turpin’s first time in trouble. Back in college at TCU, he got arrested for assault and ended up getting kicked off the team.

Now the question is: will the Cowboys do anything about it? As of now, they haven’t said a word. With training camp around the corner, we’ll see if this turns into a suspension or if Turpin just pays a fine and keeps it moving.
