The 12-1 Kansas City Chiefs travel to Ohio to face off against the 3-10 Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field for their 14th game of the regular season and Week 15 in the NFL. The Chiefs’ offensive line, their offensive tackles in particular, will have their hands full against reigning Defensive Player of the Year award winner Myles Garrett. Garrett primarily lines up on the right side of the line, meaning the starting left tackle is responsible for containing the elite pass rusher and must be at their A-game.
The Kansas City Chiefs newcomer couldn’t finish last week’s game
Chiefs’ Pro Bowl left tackle D.J. Humphries couldn’t finish his season debut in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Humphries suffered a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter and sat out for their last nine snaps of the game. The Pro Bowler showed some rust in his first game this season, surrendering five pressures, two hurries, two QB hits, and one sack, with a 52.3 overall PFF grade.
During Wednesday’s press conference, head coach Andy Reid told the media that he will not practice and is considered day-to-day. “D.J. Humphries won’t practice,” Reid said. “And, again, we haven’t listed him as ‘out’ or anything there, so we’re just going to take it day-by-day and see how he does. Every day he’s gotten a little bit better, so we’ll see how that works. And then it’ll be similar to last week, I’ve got a couple variables I can do at that spot.”
As a result, Humphries did not practice this week. The Chiefs released their final injury report yesterday and listed him as doubtful.
The Kansas City Chiefs made an official game status for Week 15
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Chiefs have officially downgraded D.J. Humphries from doubtful to out for Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns. Humphries will miss his first game of the season as a member of Kansas City. His replacement for tomorrow’s game hasn’t been announced. They could either start Wanya Morris, who has started ten games this season, or left guard Joe Thuney and insert Mike Caliendo in Thuney’s former spot.
The #Chiefs have removed K Harrison Butker’s injury designation for tomorrow’s game, and he will kick. LT D.J. Humphries has been downgraded to out.
