The Kansas City Chiefs revealed a surprise downgrade on Saturday morning when they ruled out an offensive weapon one day before their matchup with the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.
The Kansas City Chiefs ruled out 2 key players Friday
The Chiefs already ruled out two key offensive players on Friday afternoon. Offensive lineman Joe Thuney is out due to his pec injury, and wide receiver Skyy Moore was not activated from injured reserve on Friday because of his knee injury.
Kadarius Toney is out for…a personal reason
According to a statement by the Chiefs, the team ruled out wide receiver Kadarius Toney for Sunday’s game. The Chiefs listed personal reasons and his hip injury as the reasons Toney was ruled out for the AFC Championship Game.
We have activated Practice Squad players NT Mike Pennel and CB Keith Taylor via Standard Elevation.
WR Kadarius Toney is now OUT for tomorrow's game (personal/hip).

Toney was listed as questionable to play on Friday’s injury report due to the hip injury. Nothing was put on the injury report regarding a “personal” issue before Saturday’s downgrade. As of this publishing, it’s unclear what personal issue Toney is going through this weekend.
Toney, a former New York Giants first-round pick, has struggled this season with the Chiefs. He’s had numerous drops and was called offsides on what would have been a game-winning touchdown over the Buffalo Bills in the regular season. Chiefs fans called for Toney to be benched during the season.
Toney has been out since mid-December
Head coach Andy Reid defended Toney after he dropped a pass in the Chiefs’ win over the New England Patriots in December. Reid said he would consider benching Toney after the game but said Toney had done “some good things” and was still relatively young for an NFL wide receiver.
Toney has not played since the Dec. 17th game against the Chiefs. He’s been on the injury report since with the hip injury. Toney was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice but was limited on Thursday and Friday.
The Chiefs decided not to place Toney on injured reserve following the Patriots game. But the circumstances surrounding the hip injury and now personal issue make that decision questionable.
