One of the biggest remaining dominoes in NFL Free Agency has been safety Justin Simmons as he was arguably the best player to not get signed up to this point. However, it appears that things may be going to change as CBS Sports Central Analysis Su’a Cravens is reporting that he is finalizing a contract with the Atlanta Falcons but specifics regarding the contract have not been announced.
If this is true, it would be a massive addition to the secondary for the Atlanta Falcons as Justin Simmons would be joining a secondary that includes free safety Jessie Bates III and cornerback A.J. Terrell. Justin Simmons was a second-team All-Pro safety for four of the last five seasons and finished last year with 70 total tackles, one sack, a pair of forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, three interceptions and eight pass deflections with the Denver Broncos in 2023 before being released.
The Atlanta Falcons are bolstering their roster and attempting to be a Super Bowl contender with their young offensive players and a veteran defensive unit.
Does adding Justin Simmons make the Atlanta Falcons a Super Bowl contender this season?

The Atlanta Falcons are expected to be a better team but are not currently viewed as Super Bowl contenders, according to the betting odds. When diving into DraftKings Sportsbook, the Falcons are 14th in the odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy (+3000).
With the addition of Justin Simmons with the trade for Matthew Judon while signing quarterback Kirk Cousins during the offseason, they significantly improved with veterans on this roster. General manager Terry Fontenot and head coach Raheem Morris are attempting to take advantage of this window before having to pay tight end Kyle Pitts, running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Drake London.
