Joy Taylor and several other female sports commentators were recently called ‘DEI hires’ by renowned sports journalist, Jason Whitlock. Whitlock, who has been known in the past for his controversial takes, dropped Taylor’s name along with Katie Nolan, Jemele Hill, and Mina Kimes in the list, calling them ‘Mount BustMore’.
Whitlock dropped this hot take on a recent episode of his show ‘Fearless’ where he remarked that the standard of these female journalists is so poor and that the network has selected them just to tick off DEI boxes and to fulfill certain quotas.
“Joy Taylor, Katie Nolan, Jemele Hill, Mina Kimes. There’s no standard here. There are just DEI boxes and quotas to check. There’s a price for the dumbing down of conversations, and you go, ‘Oh, it’s just sports. It’s irrelevant.’ No, it’s not. Sports drive a significant portion of overall American culture. This is how you create a Mount BustMore, and this is how you create people like Jemele Hill, who, again, knows a tiny bit about sports but mostly wants to talk about how much she hates Donald Trump. That’s how Mina Kimes ends up as some NFL expert who thinks cover two is some radical invention that has stopped and shut down NFL offenses. This is how Katie Nolan got to go from Fox Sports to ESPN seven-figure paychecks while never, ever, ever being qualified to host a live television show.” Jason Whitlock said on ‘Fearless’ about Joy Taylor and several other female journalists.
There’s no standard in sports media, there are only DEI boxes to check. It’s why you have all these women on every talk show. The standard is no longer truth and excellence, it’s inclusion. pic.twitter.com/u4ckcpAiLh

Joy Taylor has been with the FOX network ever since 2016 and even filled in for Kristine Leahy on The Herd with Colin Cowherd. Taylor has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Barry University and was also the manager for the university’s radio station, WBRY 1640 AM.

Joy Taylor Trolled For Rant On Aaron Rodgers Missing OTAs With Steelers
Perhaps Jason Whitlock’s decision to criticize Joy Taylor for her poor knowledge of football came from a recent rant of hers against veteran quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. Taylor recently condemned Rodgers for missing the first day of OTAs with the Pittsburgh Steelers, although the quarterback has never actually signed with the team.

For her error, Taylor has been trolled mercilessly by social media users, with many of them calling her out for her comments on Rodgers. Taylor also made news for the wrong reasons a few months back when she was named in a lawsuit along with Skip Bayless, by a former employee of FOX.
