The North Carolina Tar Heels have seen their football program make more headlines that involve Jordon Hudson, the 24-year-old girlfriend of 73-year-old head coach Bill Belichick, than they have stories about the team itself. While they are certainly getting more publicity than they have in years, it certainly is not the kind of publicity that they want.
Of course, the recent headlines are the result of Hudson and her supposed overstepping when it comes to Belichick’s day-to-day affairs. And while the university has maintained that she is not employed by them, it is next to impossible to separate the two parties.
Jordon Hudson Has Cost Bill Belichick and North Carolina Opportunities

When Belichick was first hired by the Tar Heels, he instructed the university to forward any emails sent to him to Hudson as well. She is, after all, the head of Belichick Media.
But even though she is not involved with his activities as they relate to North Carolina’s football program, she is very much in control of what he does (and says) in the media. This was put on display for the world to see when CBS aired their interview with the former New England Patriots head coach.
During the interview, Belichick was asked how he met his girlfriend. “We’re not going to talk about that,” Hudson can be heard saying from off camera.
The weeks that have followed that interview have been a disaster for Hudson, Belichick, and North Carolina. CBS cancelled their second interview with the six-time Super Bowl winner, and HBO reportedly dropped the Tar Heels from their “Hard Knocks” show due to Hudson’s unprofessionalism.
Recently, Channing Crowder, who played against Belichick twice a year during his playing days with the Miami Dolphins, said his podcast’s interview with the legendary coach was “weird” because Hudson “choreographed” the opening.
Channing Crowder Has Apologized to Jordon Hudson and Bill Belichick

Crowder’s podcast, “The Pivot,” is also hosted by Ryan Clark, who recently made waves with his war of words with Robert Griffin III over their difference of opinion on WNBA stars Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. It was Clark who interviewed Belichick at the beginning of their episode.
But now Crowder is walking back on his comments regarding Hudson and Belichick. On Tuesday’s episode, he stated that he had personally reached out to Belichick to apologize for his words and also publicly apologized to Hudson.
“As I was talking about it on radio, you fall into the narratives. I got caught up in the narrative, caught up in the questioning,” Crowder said. “When somebody sees that you have talked to a football God, now they want to ask the questions that they’ve had on their minds for years. And I would say that’s what I got caught up in.
“And I just want to tell Bill, Jordon, I apologize for any negativity it brought to you. Coach, we talked on the phone. I told you I respect you as much as I do anybody in this world. And what happened and the articles that came out was unrealistic, and that’s the opposite of what I wanted to do for you and what I wanted to do for your relationship, Coach. So that’s my bad, and I wanted to put it out there as a man. My bad, Coach.”
While the former NFL linebacker may feel that he misrepresented Belichick and Hudson, his apology likely will do little to sway the public’s opinion on the couple. It will take the Tar Heels having a good season in the coach’s first year at the helm for that to happen.
