The Green Bay Packers are about to place a big bet on Jordan Love’s future.

Love could sign a long-term contract extension with the Packers at any moment, and could be primed to emerge as one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the sport.
What has the Packers so well positioned to pay Love a lofty premium is the job general manager Brian Gutekunst and staff have done building a youthful, talented supporting cast with the upside to grow and develop alongside Green Bay’s 25-year-old signal caller.
Packers tight end Luke Musgrave is a breakout star to watch in 2024, wide receivers Romeo Doubs, Christian Watkins, Dontayvion Wicks, and Jayden Reed all have significant upside in years to come thanks in large part to their ability to continue to build chemistry with Love in coming seasons.
After the torch being handed from Hall of Famer Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers and now from Rodgers to Love, Green Bay’s future may be brighter than ever.
Does Jordan Love Offer Green Bay Packers More Hope Than Ever?

For an organization that has become an envy of the NFL in terms of mining and developing franchise quarterbacks, it’s fair to wonder if the weapons around Love combined with the young quarterback’s massive upside open a window for success wider than it has been in decades in Green Bay.
As the 2024 season nears, Pro Football Network lists Love as the No. 58 overall player in the league as well as the NFL’s 12th-ranked quarterback.
“Coming into the season with just one pro start in relief of former Green Bay Packers starter Aaron Rodgers,” Dallas Robinson writes for PFN. “Jordan Love finished second in the NFL in touchdown passes (32), fifth in passing efficiency, and ninth in QBR while leading Green Bay to nine regular-season wins and a Wild Card rout of the Cowboys.
“In 2024, Love could become an MVP candidate while leading the NFL’s youngest offense.”
While Rodgers led the Packers to one Super Bowl championship, his lifetime 12-10 postseason record and four NFC Championship Game losses leave much to be desired.
How Love navigates a division that also houses a Detroit Lions organization that boasts arguably the young core with the most upside in that franchise’s history and a quickly rebuilding Chicago Bears roster around No. 1 pick Caleb Williams at quarterback and a bevvy of weapons just might determine how lofty the Packers’ ceiling is in recent years.
But, the pieces are in place for the Packers to push to represent the NFC in multiple Super Bowls in the seasons ahead.
