Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, seems to be taking the blame for the team’s terrible performance in the previous NFL season, according to an article released by the team’s reporter, Geoff Hobson. In the article, Hobson shares several quotes by Burrow, where the quarterback feels that he needs to have done better for the team.
Burrow has been playing for the Cincinnati Bengals since 2020 after being selected as the first overall pick in the very first round of the NFL draft. Before joining the league, the quarterback played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the LSU Tigers.
“If I had played even better, we wouldn’t have been in that spot that we were in. … I just focus on getting better myself, and I feel like everyone in the locker room feels the same way. If I go out there and play better than I did last year, then it doesn’t matter what goes on anywhere else.” Joe Burrow said about his performance according to the article by Geoff Hobson.
In the previous NFL season, the quarterback threw for a total of 4,918 yards, scoring 43 touchdowns, while managing nine interceptions. Despite his impressive stats for the Bengals, it seems like the quarterback feels like he could have done more for his team.

Joe Burrow And Cincinnati Bengals To Meet Cleveland Browns In Week 1
Meanwhile, Joe Burrow and the rest of the Cincinnati Bengals are scheduled to open their 2025 NFL season with a matchup against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1. The last time the Bengals took on the Browns, Cincinnati defeated Cleveland with an impressive 24-6. In that matchup, Cincinnati’s QB Burrow passed for 252 yards, scoring three touchdowns after completing 23 passes out of 30 attempts.

Before meeting the Browns in Week 1, the Cincinnati Bengals will warm up with three preseason games against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Washington Commanders and the Indianapolis Colts.
In the 2024 NFL season, the Cincinnati Bengals finished third in the AFC North with nine wins and eight defeats. The Bengals played their very last game of the year against the Pittsburgh Steelers, winning with a close 19-17 score. However, the win was a little too late for the team to make any progress in the tournament.

The Bengals have been working hard during this NFL offseason and are definitely eager to do better in the upcoming football season. After meeting the Browns in Week 1, Cincinnati will be heading on to meet the Jacksonville Jaguars the very next week.
