The New York Jets have had a whirlwind of an off-season.  After moving on from Aaron Rodgers, the franchise chose Justin Fields as their quarterback for 2025 and beyond.  Fields and Tyrod Taylor have been expected to be QB1 and QB2 in New York.

However, the team just learned about a sudden retirement from their quarterback room.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN:

Jets QB Jordan Travis, a fifth-round pick (No. 171 overall) out of Florida State in 2024, has informed the Jets of his intention to retire.

Jordan Travis’ statement: “On November 18, 2023, my life took an unexpected turn. I gave everything I had to the rehab process but despite all my efforts, my leg never responded the way we hoped. After much prayer and consultation with the doctors, medical experts and my agent, I’ve been medically advised to retire from the game I love so deeply.”
