The New York Jets may regret trading for Aaron Rodgers in the very near future if their fortunes don’t turn around in the next year or two.  Rodgers has made it clear he wants to keep playing past this season.  He has even indicated that the reports of him not wanting to play in New York were false.

However, the two sides will have to be able to work with each other.

According to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic:

Aaron Rodgers on the idea that he has to prove something over the last five games to make his case for returning to the #Jets:

“That is ridiculous, with all due respect. If they want me to stay, fantastic. If it takes these five games, maybe they don’t know what I bring to the table. That being said, I’d love to play really friggin well the last five games.”

Fans couldn’t believe what the future hall of fame quarterback said:

He brings a 3-9 record , a lot of drama , a highly paid mediocre entourage and a huge cap hit . Thanks for the memories

    — David Schoeps (@DavidSchoeps) December 4, 2024

    So done with him already

    — evan charne (@evanch) December 4, 2024

That’s the problem, none of us know what he’s bringing to the table

    — Paddy (@_Paddy_Smyth_) December 4, 2024

The problem is that we do know what he brings, mediocrity.
