The Ohio State Buckeyes always have a lot of talent in the wide receiver room. It is not a secret that Jeremiah Smith took the team on his back offensively en route to a national title.

Smith was only a freshman in 2024, and he will have at least two more season with Ohio State. The Buckeyes wide receiver will be the best wide receiver in college football for the next two seasons. There is a chance that the Ohio State star wide receiver could be the number one overall pick in the 2027 NFL Draft as well.

The fact that he is already ranked a 99 entering just his sophomore season, Smith is something special. Some talked about him being a Top 5 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft if he was eligible to do so. During the 2024 college football season, he caught 76 passes for 1,315 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns, along with averaging 17.3 yards per reception.
Smith also rushed for 47 yards on six carries and one touchdown, along with averaging 7.8 yards per carry. He is 6’3″ and weighs 215 lbs. It will be interesting to see what he does for Ohio State during his second season in college football. Smith has a chance to potentially go over 1,500 yards receiving during his sophomore and junior seasons. The offense has a chance to be elite once again because of Smith’s game-breaking speed.
