The Miami Dolphins officially ruled out one of their two injured star wide receivers for Week 17. The Dolphins are set to play in one of the more consequential games of the regular season against the Baltimore Ravens. The outcome could decide if the Dolphins or Ravens will earn the number one AFC seed in the playoffs.
The Dolphins have several key offensive weapons battling injuries this week Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill have missed practice this week. Hill is expected to play. On Wednesday, head coach Mike McDaniel was optimistic that Waddle could return for Sunday’s game.
That won’t happen.
The Miami Dolphins ruled out Waddle
According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Dolphins ruled out Waddle due to his high-ankle sprain.

The question now for the Dolphins is whether Waddle can return for the playoffs. Rapoport reported earlier this week a high-ankle sprain typically takes four to six weeks for an NFL player to return to the field. McDaniel seems to think Waddle will return sooner than that.
The Dolphins did get some good news on the injury front Friday. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will start against the Ravens. He’s battling a thumb injury on his throwing hand and a quad injury.
