Jason Kelce, retired Philadelphia Eagles center, is apparently having health woes after he stopped playing in the NFL. In a recent episode of the New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother,r Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce revealed his physical ailments, which he has been experiencing after his retirement from the NFL.
Jason Kelce played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2011 all the way until 2023 when he announced his retirement from the game. With the Eagles, Kelce managed to win one Super Bowl. Before entering the league, Kelce played college football for the Cincinnati Bearcats. The topic of Jason Kelce’s health was triggered when his brother, Travis Kelce, remarked that he could definitely play the tight end position.
“You can play tight end,” Travis Kelce said to Jason Kelce in the ‘New Heights’ podcast.
“Can’t. No. My ankles, knees and back won’t let me. No. It’s getting bad,” Jason Kelce responded to his brother.
“That’s just your mind,” Travis Kelce remarked to Jason Kelce.
“I don’t know if it’s like—the moment you retire mentally, your body retires too. Physically, because I’m just like. … I’m trying to lift weights, straining muscles. My ankle, playing golf last week, is inflamed. Can’t squat now because my ankle hurts. I can’t bench because I sprained my pecs.” Jason Kelce explained.

While Jason Kelce is currently enjoying his retirement, despite the physical challenges he is facing, his younger brother, Travis Kelce, is still going strong with the Kansas City Chiefs as a tight end. Travis Kelce has already won three Super Bowl rings with the Chiefs and will be eager to add more jewelry to his collection.

Jason Kelce Reveals How He Lost So Much Weight After Retirement
While Jason Kelce may not be the best athlete right now when compared to his pre-retirement phase, the former Philadelphia Eagles center is definitely a lot lighter now. Kelce was recently asked how he shed weight, slimming down from 295 lbs. to 270 lbs.

Apparently, Jason Kelce is currently in a competition with Beau Allen, former nose tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles. The two retired football players are competing to see who can lose the most body fat. However, Kelce has pretty realistic goals for himself. He does not want to lose too much weight that his head sticks out like a bobble-head doll. Instead, he hopes to stay within 250 lbs. to 265 lbs.
