Buffalo Bills running back James Cook is entering the final year of his contract. He is looking for a new contract before the start of the 2025 NFL season begins.

Cook views himself as one of the best running backs in the NFL. OTAs for Buffalo will be on May 27-29, June 2-3, and June 5. This comes before the mandatory minicamp for Buffalo which will take place from June 10-12. Was Cook in attendance for OTAs for Buffalo or was he absent?
Buffalo Bills Running Back James Cook Does Not Appear At OTAs on Tuesday

With Buffalo beginning its OTAs on Tuesday, Yahoo Sports reported,
“Bills RB James Cook is not in attendance for the first day of voluntary OTA’s, per Sean McDermott. Cook is seeking a contract extension.”
Cook during the 2024 NFL season with the Bills rushed for 1,009 yards on 207 carries and 16 touchdowns, along with averaging 4.9 yards per carry. He also caught 32 passes for 258 yards receiving and two touchdowns, along with averaging 8.1 yards per carry.
Cook is only 25 years old. He is in the final year of his four-year $5,832,057 rookie contract. There is a chance that he is looking somewhere between $12-$15 million per season. Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens and Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles are two of the highest paid running backs in the NFL. The Bills star running back needs to get paid sooner rather than later so this doesn’t linger into the 2025 NFL season.
