Jalen Ramsey’s recent trade to the Pittsburgh Steelers has been dissected repeatedly over the last couple of days. The trade is indeed shocking, with the Dolphins giving up Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. However, not all NFL fans are on board with the change, with some calling it completely irrelevant and that it might not have any effect on the team’s Super Bowl chances.
Meanwhile, others have been comparing cornerback Jalen Ramsey and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to see if the trade was really worth it. Several NFL analysts have discussed this, and more recently, renowned sports journalist Albert Breer shared his two cents on the matter in his appearance on ‘The Herd’ with Colin Cowherd.
“They feel like Ramsey is a better player than Minkah Fitzpatrick… And maybe those guys have less shelf life, like maybe those guys only have two or three years left rather than five or six years. But where they are right now, it was either do this, tread water at 9-10 wins, or reset. And I think they look at it as if we weren’t going to break through that 9, 10, 11 win ceiling with the group that we had. So let’s roll the dice.” Albert Breer spoke about Jalen Ramsey and the Pittsburgh Steelers in his appearance on ‘The Herd’.

Jalen Ramsey started out his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars, moved to the LA Rams and then the Dolphins and is currently with the Steelers roster. This shuttling about the league has also been criticized by Pittsburgh fans, especially since safety Fitzpatrick only switched teams twice in his career.
Jalen Ramsey’s Addition Strengthens Pittsburgh’s Defense
Meanwhile, Jalen Ramsey is definitely a talented player and might find some better with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are a very defense-focused team. Ramsey is also known for his versatility on the field, which will hugely benefit Mike Tomlin’s Steelers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are definitely getting desperate to make it to the playoffs this season, something they haven’t done in about a decade. The Steelers are also bragging a brand new quarterback in Aaron Rodgers, who has reportedly signed with the team only after seeing promise in their roster and strategies.

The Steelers seem to have designed their entire play around Aaron Rodgers, who is apparently going to play his final season with the team. This might push the quarterback to push his performance this upcoming season, and perhaps the Steelers might make it to the playoffs after all.
