Jalen Milroe, newly drafted quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, should not be allowed to sit on the bench for too long according to Shaun Alexander, former Seahawks running back. In his recent appearance on the ‘Up & Adams Show’, Alexander remarked that ‘superstars’ like Milroe need to be used or else they will forget how to be superstars.

Alexander also lauded Milroe as a high-performing player and that he has immense potential which can be used by the team. The retired footballer discussed an example from his own life after he became the legend that he is only after he was allowed to play in his second year with the team.

“I think that you just let him grow. You know, I’m one of those guys that you know, in college, I was red shirted. Get to the pros, I sit behind Ricky Watters for a year. Year two, boom. But also know, that if he has the discipline to be the quarterback, and we know he has the talent, and if you can catch on fast enough, you don’t let superstars sit too long, because they learn not to be the superstars.”  Shaun Alexander spoke about Jalen Milroe in his appearance on the ‘Up & Adams Show’.

Should the Seahawks deploy rookie QB Jalen Milroe in Year 1?

Jalen Milroe was selected by the Seattle Seahawks as the 92nd pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft. Before the draft, Milroe played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide. In his senior year for Alabama, Milroe threw for 2,844 yards, scoring 16 touchdowns for the team, with 11 interceptions.

Jalen Milroe’s Seahawks To Meet 49ers In Season-Opening Game

Meanwhile, Jalen Milroe’s Seattle Seahawks are scheduled to take on the San Francisco 49ers in the first game of their season. Whether Milroe will play or not for the Seahawks is a big question here. Before meeting the 49ers, Seattle will warm up with three preseason games, against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers.

In their previous NFL season, the Seahawks finished second in the NFC West after winning ten games and losing seven. Seattle played their very last game of the season against the Los Angeles Rams, winning with a final 30-25 score. However, the win came a little too late and the team failed to make it to the playoffs. The Seahawks will be eager to improve their record in their next NFL season, armed with plenty of fresh talent like Jalen Milroe.
