The Jacksonville Jaguars took a tough loss last week against the Houston Texans, dropping their record to 2-10 and in possession of the number one overall pick of the 2025 NFL draft. The main headliner from the game was the dirty hit on quarterback Trevor Lawrence by Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, who was suspended for three games by the league. While the chaos was ensuing on the field from the hit, another player from Jacksonville was also punished for fighting.
Jacksonville Jaguars Star Punished
Star tight end Evan Engram was fined $11,255 by the league for unnecessary roughness after jumping on Al-Shaair after his hit on Lawrence, ultimately starting the fight between the two teams. As seen in the video, Engram went over to the linebacker and began to fight him.
#Texans LB Azeez Al-Shaair’s three-game suspension wasn’t the only discipline out of last week’s game.

Texans-Jaguars Fight
While other players from the Jaguars also joined in, Engram was the one who started the fight, which is why he is the one punished. There are several different opinions on the hit, ranging from NFL legend Tom Brady saying Lawrence sliding late is what caused the hit to take place and others that are glad that Al-Shaair is being punished by the league for injuring the quarterback.Jacksonville plays the Tennessee Titans this week with Mac Jones listed as the starting quarterback, with Lawrence being out with a concussion.
