The New York Giants had a 3-14 record during the 2024 NFL season. There was not a lot to like about that season and thankfully 2025 is a new season.

Even though the Giants finished in fourth place in the NFC East last season, they will have one of the toughest schedules in the NFL in 2025. New York is being doubted by a ton of outsiders as the 2025 season approaches, but the vibes internally feel a lot different. They were 3-0 in the preseason and dominated the competition.
New York Giants Insider Doubts They’ll Win Many Games In 2025

The Athletic projects the Giants win total at 5.6. The verdict for this is just right for them apparently. Dan Duggan of the Athletic said about New York not potentially winning many games in 2025,
“The Giants improved their roster, particularly on defense with the additions of edge rusher Abdul Carter, cornerback Paulson Adebo and safety Jevon Holland. The quarterback play with Russell Wilson (and eventually Jaxson Dart) has to be better than the Daniel Jones-Drew Lock-Tommy DeVito disaster of last season. But still, this is a team that won three games last season. Even with the upgrades, it’s difficult to see many wins against the hardest schedule in the league. “
There is no doubt that the Giants quarterback room is much improved from a season ago. Jaxson Dart, Russell Wilson, and Jameis Winston made the team. A season ago, it was Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito, Drew Lock, and Tim Boyle. Wilson will be the starter, but New York will need to win games early in order to hold off Dart from playing.
With that being said, if the Giants can win the Washington Commanders and the Dallas Cowboys matchup within the first two weeks of the season, there is a chance that New York can win more than five games this season. This is a football team that can slide under the radar. They have a potential to have an elite defense. If Carter can change this defense and make it elite alongside Dexter Lawerence, they are going to be nightmares to prepare for.
