The West Virginia Mountaineers are 4-4 to start the 2024 college football season. They defeated the Arizona Wildcats last weekend 31-26. West Virginia will be on a bye week this week before they head on the road and face the Cincinnati Bearcats the following weekend.

The Mountaineers made a questionable move on Tuesday and according to CBS Sports, the Mountaineers parted ways with defensive coordinator Jordan Lesley. This is very interesting that this occurred during the bye week after a win.
Fans Erupt Over the West Virginia Mountaineers Getting Rid Of Defensive Coordinator Jordan Lesley

There seemed to be a lot of confused college football fans about the West Virginia Mountaineers making this coaching move. Here is what some of the Mountaineers fans had to say about it:

This firing could mean that Neal Brown could be the next Mountaineers coach fired. It could very well happen at the end of the 2024 season. West Virginia could be a very interesting job for a lot of people.
Potential Names For Mountaineers Coaching Job

If the West Virginia Mountaineers fire Neal Brown after the season after getting rid of Jordan Lesley, there is no doubt that there will be some big-time names who could be interested in the job. One of the first names that comes to mind is Jimbo Fisher. Another name that could be thrown out there is Nick Saban.
Urban Meyer could be another name that could thrown out there. Ohio is not far from West Virginia. What if the Mountaineers got crazy and decided to hire former Mountaineers player Pat McAfee? It would be crazy. West Virginia could very well finish 6-6 and make a bowl game. However, if there is no bowl game for them this season, there will be massive changes with this program.
