The Indianapolis Colts announced their newest addition to their Ring of Honor on Monday. The owner of the team Jim Irsay announced that the franchise would induct the greatest tight end in their franchises’ history Dallas Clark. At the moment, they have not set the exact date for the ceremony, but it is official that Clark will be in the team’s Ring of Honor.

Dallas was one of legend Peyton Manning’s favorite targets over his career with the Colts, and helped bring the team a second Super Bowl along side Manning. Irsay gushed heavily about the teams best tight end when he made the announcement on Monday:

“A game-breaking tight end. Our all-time franchise leader in receptions and TDs for that position,” Irsay wrote. “One of the toughest men I’ve ever seen play the game. And the epitome of a Colt off the field. That’s why I’m excited to announce DALLAS CLARK as our 2024 Ring of Honor inductee.”

“The Colts have had a long and historic tradition of record-breaking tight ends and receivers, and Dallas Clark stands alongside all these greats who have worn the Horseshoe,” Irsay said in a statement. “In today’s game, tight ends have become so much more dynamic and important to the offensive side of the ball, and Dallas was one of the pioneers with his style of play. He was electrifying, tough and dependable on the field and a great teammate and person off the field. And he of course was a key piece in bringing Indianapolis its first world championship. I am so happy to welcome Dallas Clark into our Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor.”

Clark spent nine total seasons with the Colts, spanning from 2003 to 2011. His totals with the team, catching passes from Manning are incredible. He grabbed 427 catches for 4,887 yards and 46 touchdowns with the team as well as incredible playoff performances.

Clark set the single season record for the team when he totaled 100 receptions and 1,106 yards in 2009 which earned him the All Pro award for that season. His performance that year in the post season was incredible as well, but the team fell in the Super Bowl.

However, Clark did help the team win their second Super Bowl alongside Manning three years prior. He had two 100 yard games that post season, including a 137 yard performance in the AFC Championship game. Clark ranks 5th in all time catches for the Colts and 7th in touchdowns in the organization’s entire history.

    Manning celebrated his teammates Honor:

“Congrats to my good friend Dallas Clark,” Manning wrote. “Colts 2024 Ring of Honor Inductee! Incredible player and teammate!”
