The Indiana Hoosiers were realized as an afterthought in the BIG10 Conference for football at the start of last college football season. The tide has changed for the Hoosiers football program after the 2024 season.

Indiana made the playoffs last season and finished with an 11-2 record. They lost to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the first round by a final score of 27-17. Despite the loss, there is a lot of hope for the Indiana Hoosiers football program in the future.
Yahoo Sports Has the Indiana Hoosiers Ranked 16th In Way Too Early Top 25 For Next Season

Would have thought that the Indiana Hoosiers would have been a team ranked in the way too early Top 25 for next season? Yahoo Sports writer Nick Bromberg created his way too early Top 25 for next year and he has the Indiana Hoosiers ranked at number 16. Bromberg said:
“After QB Kurtis Rourke was phenomenal in 2024 in his lone season at Indiana, Cal’s Fernando Mendoza arrives to lead the offense. Elijah Sarratt and Omar Cooper are back at receiver, but the offensive line will need some reshuffling. We expect the Hoosiers to make some defensive moves in the transfer portal, and we also are never doubting Curt Cignetti. Remember, he’s never had a losing season as a head coach.”
The good news is that the Indiana Hoosiers will have a good quarterback in place for next season and the season after. Indiana will look to be a contender in the BIG10 Conference again in the 2025 college football season, with a little bit tougher of a schedule.
BIG10 Deep

There is a chance that the BIG10 Conference will have seven teams ranked in the Top 25 polls at the start of next season. The projection is that the Indiana Hoosiers will be one of those programs that will be ranked in the Top 25. Some of the other programs from the conference that will be ranked next year possibly are the Michigan Wolverines, the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Oregon Ducks, the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Penn State Nittany Lions, and the Illinois Fighting Illini.
Indiana only lost to the Buckeyes in conference play last season. The Hoosiers will face the Oregon Ducks, the Penn State Nittany Lions, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Illinois Fighting Illini next year. If Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers are going to make it to the playoffs for the second straight season, they are going to have to win some of those tough games on the schedule.
