The Indiana Hoosiers were one of the biggest stories in college football this season. They finished with an 11-2 record in 2024. This was a major step in the right direction and the Hoosiers may only be getting started. They lost to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 27-17 on the road on Friday night in the college football playoffs.
Head coach Curt Cignetti is going to need to find a replacement in 2025 for quarterback Kurtis Rourke. Rourke had a tremendous season for the Hoosiers. One quarterback that Indiana could get for next season is potential transfer quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
Fernando Mendoza Commits To the Indiana Hoosiers
According to ESPN on Tuesday morning, former California Golden Bears quarterback Fernando Mendoza has committed to the Indiana Hoosiers. Mendoza was a sophomore last season. He is 6’5″ and weighs 225 lbs.
Mendoza completed 68.7% of his passes for 3,004 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He was one of the best quarterback options in the transfer portal. Most likely, Fernando Mendoza will be the starting quarterback for Indiana for the next two seasons. He is originally from Miami, Florida.

The Hoosiers are not looking to be a one-year wonder in the BIG10 Conference under head coach Curt Cignetti. Hopefully, they will be able to land more talented players in the transfer portal other than Mendoza before the start of the 2025 college football season. The future looks bright for the Indiana Hoosiers football program also.
