Jalen Carter was a limited participant in the Philadelphia Eagles‘ practice on Wednesday. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported earlier in the day that Carter missed his media availability due to an illness.
Philadelphia promptly made sure to place Carter on their injury report for Wednesday.
Jalen Carter isn’t the only player sick
Per Anthony DiBona of Philadelphia Sports Network, Carter isn’t the only Eagles player dealing with an illness this week.
“Carter is dealing with an illness ahead of Super Bowl LIX,” DiBona wrote on X. “Ironically, Eagles starting DT Timmy Jernigan and several other players were sick ahead of Super Bowl LII. Chris Jones has said that himself and several Chiefs players were sick ahead of Super Bowl LVII. Maybe being sick is a key to winning the Super Bowl?”

Per NBC Sports, Eagles defensive coordination Vic Fangio confirmed an illness is working its way through the locker room. Quinyon Mitchell is reportedly dealing with laryngitis.
Whatever illness has struck Philadelphia isn’t expected to keep any players from playing against the Kansas City Chiefs at Caesars Superdome on Sunday. The Eagles had better hope that the illness doesn’t affect their play on the field.
The Philadelphia Eagles injury report seems fishy
Per the Eagles injury report on Thursday, only Carter was listed for having an illness. He was a full participant.

The Eagles don’t appear to be telling the full story about the illness that has hit the roster. One would assume Carter isn’t the only player hit with the illness to the extent they were limited at practice.
The injury report doesn’t name the other players who are dealing with an illness. What are they hiding? Why did they only place Carter on the injury report for having an illness?
