The Cleveland Browns quarterback situation continues to get dicey by the minute. Joe Flacco or Kenny Pickett is in line to be the Week 1 starter for Cleveland despite the coaching staff saying it is a four-person battle.

Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel are both rookies for the Browns, but it appears as if head coach Kevin Stefanski and general manager Andrew Berry may decide not to start either of them in Week 1. A lot of fans want to Sanders be the starting quarterback at some point for Cleveland.
NFL Analyst Thinks That Cleveland Browns Quarterback Kenny Pickett Should Not Be Written Off

Aditi Kinkhabwala of cbs sports was on 92.3 the fan in Cleveland, Ohio talking about the Browns quarterback battle. She thinks that Pickett is being written off already and that he potentially deserves a chance with Cleveland’s offense. Kinhabwala said,
“I just really don’t understand why no one will give (Pickett) the benefit of the doubt…you’re all writing him off before he even gets a chance…”
He was the Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback during the 2024 NFL season. In limited action with Philadelphia, he completed 59.5% of his passes for 291 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. For now, Pickett is right behind Flacco on the depth chart for Cleveland. Before the 2024 season, Pickett was traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Eagles.
Training camp will tell where the coaching staff stands on this quarterback room. Pickett, Sanders, Flacco, and Gabriel all got reps during OTAs and mandatory minicamp as well. If Pickett wins the starting quarterback job for the Browns, it will be interesting to see what else Cleveland will do with the quarterbacks on the roster. Deshaun Watson is out of the picture for this franchise.
Pickett had his struggles with the Steelers and that is why Pittsburgh traded him. Starting him in Week 1 potentially would mean that Flacco has nothing left in the tank and it would also mean that either of the rookies are not ready to play in an NFL game yet.
